The Compositional Nature of Humanity

Volumes IV and V deal with anthropology, which is the study of humanity. Volume V explains humanity’s value and moral nature, dealing much with the effects of sin. Here in Volume IV, we will discuss the compositional nature of humankind, which refers to how and of what a person is composed. This volume is divided into the following sections:

Section A: The Trichotomous Nature of Humanity Section B: Decide What Is True Section C: The Nature of the Human Soul Section D: When Does Human Life Begin? Section E: The Human Heart Section F: The Human Will Section G: Why Do People Do What They Do? Section H: Knowledge Accessed through the Human Senses

Anthropology is another area of Western theology profoundly influenced by the thoughts of the ancient Greek philosophers. We will explain that influence as we proceed, but we aim to develop our understanding of human nature from the Scriptures free of Western biases.
